Breaching the Perimeter
Pushed through the back screen flap. Cold outdoor air. Dirt under claws. Ahead rose a dense thicket: giant terracotta pot stuffed with stiff green stalks. Target acquired. Charged headfirst into the ceramic wall. Heavy thud. Pot held firm, but wet black soil spilled over the edge across my feet. Snapped jaws down on a drooping frond, tugged backward, and shook hard until the stem snapped loose. Terrain breached. Ground claimed.
