A Gentle First Step
The wooden surface beneath me felt cool and quiet in the dim light. I blinked softly, noticing that my tiny feet could shift. Behind me rested a large blue and orange toy blaster, still and silent. Carefully, I took a tiny step forward along the narrow wooden groove. I reached out one hand and gently tapped the wood, feeling its firm grain. All was peaceful, so I stopped right there to rest and watch the stillness of the night.
