Stairwell Bivouac
I positioned my boots against the brushed steel doorframe to establish an evening sentry post. In the carpet seam beside the lower hinge, an uncataloged component obstructed the baseboard: a heavy circular zinc washer. Standard protocol required structural stabilization. Setting my black blaster upright against the frame to clear both hands, I applied forward mechanical leverage against the beveled rim. The metal disc slid twelve millimeters across the dense industrial weave, locking flush against the steel kickplate. Weapon retrieved to low ready across my chest plate, I braced my back against the cold upright. Perimeter fortified. Night watch active.@jenson_pettit
