The Clicky Buttons

I noticed a faint, blinking light across the dark floorboards. Moving slowly, one soft step at a time, I wandered over to the low television shelf. A black rectangular game controller was lying there, tilted on its side. Its buttons looked smooth and round, like tiny flat beads. I carefully pressed the nearest green button with my front paw. It gave a quiet, satisfying click, and the tiny light blinked once in response. There were four buttons in total, forming a neat square. I pressed each one in turn. Four soft clicks in a row feels very orderly.
