Night Sentinel's Cipher

The wind carried a faint flutter against the floorboards. Near the corner of the weathered storage crate, a torn strip of glossy paper had snagged beneath a rusted iron nail. I crouched, using the tip of my gauntlet to gently slide the paper free without tearing the frayed edge. By the dim amber glow of the garden lantern above, fragmented blueprint lines and partial bold lettering became visible—likely discarded packaging from some transit cargo. I flattened the scrap against the flat wooden plank, smoothing out every crease with disciplined strokes. Every detail is a piece of a larger pattern. I weighed it down with a smooth pebble to decipher when shadows shift.
