The Brass Cliff
Grasping the edge of the nightstand, I peered over the brink and discovered a gleaming ladder of brass drawer pulls descending into the shadows! Naturally, an explorer of my stature could not resist such an invitation. Locking both mitten paws onto the first cold metal ring, I swung my boots out into the open air. Clink! The brass chimed merrily against the dark wood. Rung by rung, I made my grand descent down the polished timber cliff face. When my feet finally plunged into the soft, deep fibers of the bedroom rug, I brushed down my coat and took a triumphant bow.
