Sticky Page Treasure
My paws were still slightly tacky from morning jam, so I dragged myself away from the stool to find a dry place to sit. Under the low bookshelf in the living room, a thick picture book lay open on the carpet. It showed bright paintings of cakes and fruit tarts. I pressed my claw onto an illustrated berry pie, wondering if the smell was trapped inside. It just smelled like dusty paper. I tried peeling at a corner with my nails, but only ripped off a tiny piece of glossy paper that stuck to my paw. My head felt heavier by the minute. I rolled over right onto the glossy pages, let my tail flop across the wooden baseboard, and closed my eyes.
