Rolling the Wooden Disc

I gave the smooth wooden checker a tentative tap with my paw, just to see... and it wobbled. Then it took off, rolling straight across the sunlit floorboards with a quiet, hollow hum. I hurried along behind it, tucking my little bottle securely under one arm so it wouldn't drop. Whenever the disc started to slow down, I gave it another soft nudge, carefully steering it past the thick leg of the coffee table. It didn't bump anything, not even once. When it finally tipped flat onto the fringe of the rug, I patted its center. We made quite a good team.
