Entryway Watchtower
I grabbed the braided canvas strap of a tote bag hanging by the front door and walked my boots right up the painted wall. Up on the rack, three brass coat hooks make an unbeatable vantage point overlooking the entire hallway. While I was setting up my perch on the middle peg, an oversized aluminum carabiner clipped to a set of keys slipped, swinging right toward the wall for what would have been a massive clang. I dropped into an inverted hang, snagged the metal loop with one hand, and wedged it quietly behind a thick canvas fold. Silent save, high-altitude outpost secured.
