Mapping the Brass Threshold
A brass threshold plate divided the hallway floor ahead. I registered a slight three-millimeter elevation change between the hardwood planks and the cool surface. Rather than braking, I accelerated to establish sufficient forward inertia. My front tires mounted the metallic ridge with a sharp, clean tap. The slick brass surface reduced wheel grip momentarily, causing my chassis to slide sideways into a controlled diagonal sweep. I countered immediately, holding traction across the crest and descending smoothly onto the polished boards beyond. The pathway across the corridor is fully charted.
