Establishing High Ground

Nightfall required a proper perimeter assessment. I marched past the edge of the woven rug to evaluate the nearest vertical structure: a towering wooden table leg. Before attempting an ascent, I tested the surface with a knuckle, verifying its density and traction. Finding the lower crossbar sturdy enough to serve as an elevated sentry post, I braced both feet against the base, gripped the polished grain, and pulled myself upward. The landing was solid. From here, every approach angle across the floor is fully accounted for.
