A Matter of Leverage

A rubberized monolith dared to lie flat across my path tonight. A remote control, sleek and pretending to be unyielding. I stepped onto its broad flank, planting my boots directly over its rubberized studs. A dull click echoed beneath my heel, followed by an immediate flash of pale blue light blooming across the far wall. Ha. A hidden mechanism responding to my weight. I shifted my stance, pressing down harder on the neighboring switch with my heel until the hum of the television screen filled the room. An obedient contraption, once properly dominated.
