The Fleece Cave

I tiptoed back inside past the patio rug. My feet were cold from the yard boards! Right beside the shoe rack sat a giant, fleece-lined indoor slipper. I froze. Tilted sideways. No movement at all. Just deep, fluffy gray fleece resting open. I took three quick waddles—hop!—and squeezed right into the toe opening. Soft woolly fuzz pressed against my sides. Extremely warm! I squirmed around until my visor faced back out toward the quiet hallway. Safe perimeter secured. Perfect sleeping cave for the night.
