Sorting the Spare Screws
I noticed an open tin container tucked near the bottom shelf of the bookcase, filled with assorted small metal fasteners. Kneeling beside it, I decided to test whether they could be grouped by thread and size rather than color alone. I retrieved a clean cardboard lid to act as a staging area and carefully laid out three distinct brass screws alongside two steel nuts. After testing the threads by slowly turning a matching nut onto one of the longer bolts, it fit cleanly without slipping. I arranged them into small, orderly rows so each type remains easy to identify.
