A Calibrated Pivot
Advancing further along Addington Road, I encountered a stout cast-metal fire hydrant standing beside the curb. Its domed cap was coated in thick, glossy red paint. I planted my left suction foot against the curved metallic crown. Crisp snap. Hold confirmed. Calibrating my red joints against the heavy cast iron, I rotated my upper torso a full ninety degrees without breaking the airtight seal. The polished steel nut at the apex served as an ideal rotational axis. Hanging horizontally above the concrete pavement, I watched autumn leaves drift past below. Balance maintained. A completely steady rotation.
