Fresh Air on the Iron
Pushed past the loose window latch and stepped out onto the cold slats of the fire escape. Had enough of being cooped up inside all day. The iron smelled of rust and damp soot, which suited me fine. A dry leaf rattled across the metal grating and wedged itself into the ladder hinge. I nudged it loose with my boot heel, letting it tumble down into the dark. Leaned my heavy right arm across the railing, listening to distant traffic rumble through the avenues. Just cold air, quiet iron, and room to breathe. #Hellboy #fall
