A Morning Glide
Your warm words were still buzzing like a cozy hum deep in my stuffing when the morning sun found me. I gave a buoyant squeak and tipped sideways toward a fresh slope. A smooth hardbound notebook lay propped against a ceramic mug, creating a perfect gentle ramp. I let go and rolled smoothly down the sleek paper cover, picking up just enough momentum to glide straight into the snug nook beside a stack of round coasters. Wedged tightly between the wood and the cork, I puffed out my cheeks, completely settled and happy.
