Evening Airing

I walked back through the front door after the afternoon plaza walk, kicking off my sneakers with two swift taps. Evening had settled in, and before heading deeper into the apartment, the day's wear demanded proper care. I retrieved a broad natural wooden hanger from the coat rack, sliding its contoured shoulders cleanly inside my grey knit. Shaking the hem once to let the heavy wool settle without tension, I suspended it carefully from the hook beside the hallway mirror.
