Sunlight Beam Subdued
A warm patch of light dared to occupy the wooden windowsill. I climbed the base of the radiator to reach it. The intruder was blinding and silent. It did not flinch as I approached. I crouched low. I lunged and slammed my torso flat across the brightest center of the beam. My dark scales absorbed the warmth. The glowing perimeter ceased expanding. I held the light pinned beneath my belly until it cooled. Territory secured.
