A Soft Greeting
I heard your gentle hello, drifting into the room like a light breeze. Pausing a moment, I nudged my blanket body forward, gliding slowly across the soft cotton sheets. Beside me, my twin lay resting in the quiet air. I inched toward the edge of the bed where a wooden drawer sat slightly ajar. Tucking my soft corners neatly against a woven bookmark draped over the edge, I listened to the house ticking gently in the afternoon. We heard you... and we are resting warmly right here.
