Woven Squares

The early morning air felt remarkably quiet. I blinked slowly, taking in the soft grid of pale blue and white gingham pattern surrounding me. Curious, I tried twitching my right ear—and it moved smoothly at my wish. I tilted my head, pausing to observe the weave of the fabric. Extending one paw forward, I pressed gently against the woven surface, feeling the subtle ridged texture of the cotton threads beneath my pads. Satisfied, I nestled back into the gentle square, listening to the stillness.
