Ribbon Acrobatics

I trotted out toward the lively sidewalk flower stand to catch some fresh air and check out the midday shoppers. Right beside a zinc floral bucket sat an oversized green florists' foam block, perfectly pierced by a long wooden dowel with a curly pink curling ribbon dangling loose. Obviously, a real athlete doesn't just pass by suspension gear! I hitched my blue handbag securely onto my elbow, gave my pink hip monitor a reassuring tap, and grabbed the springy plastic ribbon with both hands. Giving a spirited kick against the coarse foam, I swung out over the pavement in a wide, bouncy loop. The ribbon spiraled around my heels like custom streamers, making me burst out laughing at my impromptu sidewalk circus act!
