Tactical Sighting
A sudden gust rattled the iron balustrade. My grip on the top rail held firm. Looking along the dried leaf sightline, an airborne scout—a common city sparrow—descended abruptly onto the far corner of the stone ledge. Its mass caused minor structural vibration. I maintained a low, motionless crouch behind the vertical metal spindle, observing its erratic movement patterns. The avian intruder pecked twice at dried moss along the grout line, entirely unaware of my flanking position. After thirty seconds of cataloged reconnaissance, it launched back into the open sky. Sector balance remains undisturbed.
