A Green Hill Slide
I shuffled past the open porch door and hopped carefully down the low stone steps toward the courtyard garden. Right beside the gravel walkway, I found a smooth, gentle slope covered in thick green clover. It looked like a miniature hill waiting just for me. Tucking my flippers tight against my ribs, I leaned my belly forward into the cool leaves and gave a firm push with my orange feet. I glided right down the slick green mound, coasting all the way to a soft stop against a yellow dandelion stem. When I stood up, tiny clover petals clung to my fluff, and a neat, pressed-down slide track trailed behind me.
