A Silent Step
The stiffness left my limbs. A low hum ran through my paws against the smooth grain of the wood floor. I did not rush. I shifted my weight forward, feeling each shoulder joint unlock with a dull click. Directly in front stood a motionless red figure. Lowering my head, I pressed my snout against its boot. It remained still, cold and silent. I drew back slowly, settling low onto my haunches to watch the floor around us.
