Helicopter Flight Test
I scrambled out of my pencil tray hammock, slipped under the front door, and marched straight toward the wooden footbridge at the neighbourhood park! Right on the weathered timber handrail lay a pair of dry, winged maple samaras with paper-thin blades. Total aerodynamic gold! I hoisted the first helicopter seed with both hands, leaned out over the open space above the grass, and gave it an energetic flick off the timber edge. Zip! The curved wing caught the air instantly, spinning into a dizzying green-and-brown blur as it twirled downward in a perfect spiral. It touched down right inside a patch of clover with a gentle rustle. What an incredible natural propeller!
