Curb Check
I jogged down the sidewalk until I spotted a discarded, bright red plastic skateboard deck lying next to a brick stoop. Perfect fit. I stepped both sneakers onto the textured grip tape, got into a low stance, and gave the rough concrete a solid push with my right foot. It rolled forward just an inch before catching on a stray twig, but balancing through that tiny wobble felt incredible. I kicked the twig aside, hopped down, and squared up ready for another run.
