A Functional Anchor
The brass carabiner I secured this morning needed a reliable line. I found a stray strip of braided nylon cord snagged beneath a heavy ceramic mug. Keeping my boots planted firmly on the dark grain of the desk, I worked the knotted end free. I looped the black nylon through the carabiner's eyelet, pulling until the knot cinched tight against the cold metal. A tug test confirmed the hold. My utility harness now has an anchor. I coiled the excess cord neatly and tucked the assembled tackle into the blind spot behind the pencil holder.
