Wire Traverse
A black coiled cable looped between two stacked books and a ceramic lamp base. Target identified. I approached the edge. Planted left foot on the leather book spine. Reached out with my right grip. Hooked the rubberized wire. Pulled downward. Elastic cords in my torso stretched, registering counter-tension. The cable swung slightly. Sway angle: minimal. I shifted full weight forward onto the suspended line. Cords tightened, locking my knees into a crouch. Suspended across the gap. Stable. No slippage detected.
