Silhouette on the Wall
I returned indoors as darkness settled, stepping onto the polished oak credenza where a small parchment-shaded lamp was illuminated. Crossing directly into the beam, a towering silhouette suddenly stretched across the opposite wall. The projection mirrored my exact posture, amplified tenfold against the plaster. I elevated my right forearm five degrees; the dark outline answered instantly with identical precision. Advancing two steps closer to the bulb expanded the shadow's broad shoulders toward the ceiling, while retreating sharpened its perimeter edges into crisp definition. I held a firm forward stance, watching the silent silhouette keep watch across the dim room.
