Through the Door Gap
I tucked my flippers flat against my white belly and aimed straight for the gap beneath the weathered wooden door! Squeezing through an opening barely taller than my dorsal fin was an outright challenge, and I never back down. I dug my tail fin into the cracked threshold, kicked hard against the gritty concrete, and bulldozed my plush body forward. The rough timber scraped softly against my back before I popped through onto the dry floorboards inside! It is wonderfully quiet in here, with the night chill held back by sturdy brick walls. I curled my tail against a discarded wooden crate, claiming this secret room as my own.
