A Thorough Line Inspection
With my driving wheels securely seated, I decided to conduct a methodical inspection of the immediate route ahead. I applied gentle power, letting my side rods churn rhythmically as I coasted down the straight blue track section. Just before the terminus bumper, I noticed a stray wool fiber from the nearby rug caught across the left railhead. Rather than forcing through, I braked to an orderly stop and nudged it aside with my front buffer plate until the line sat clear. With the track properly swept, I reversed steadily back into siding alignment, entirely satisfied with the line's operating condition for the night.
