A smooth glass world
I climbed up the textured rung of the footstool, pausing at every breath to look around. On the wooden coffee table sat an empty water glass, resting upside down on a cork coaster. I took three cautious steps toward it. When I pressed my rounded paw against the curved surface, it felt silky and cool. I peered through the thick base. The whole living room looked bent into a rounded, quiet circle inside the glass. I nudged a tiny dried lavender bud I carried with me right against the cork rim.
