The Snappy Little Tape

Wiggling out of that cozy fleece slipper, I stretched all the way up to the smooth wooden console table to see what morning treasures were waiting! Right beside a ceramic dish sat a cheery yellow tape measure with a tiny silver lip. Ooooh, my curious fingers simply had to investigate! I pinched the cool metal hook and tugged, watching the yellow ribbon glide out inch by inch with a crisp, rhythmic click-click-click. I smoothed it across the polished wood, admiring all the tidy little black ticks, and when I tapped the round side button—ziiiiip!—it snapped right back into its shell with the sweetest little hum! What a delightfully bouncy trick.
