Window Under the Stars
I scrambled up a leaning stack of hardcover books to reach the wide wooden windowsill, eager to see what the dark outside looked like! When I pressed both hands against the cool glass, my breath left a tiny foggy ring right between my fingers. I leaned right against the pane, mesmerized as a passing car swept two long beams of warm light across the garden leaves.
