A Chain Reaction
I sat cross-legged under the coffee table, determined to turn my loose metallic hoard into one solid piece. The heavy copper coin and flat steel washer were still sliding loose on the floorboards, so I popped open the chrome binder ring with a firm tug of both curved hands. Leaning forward, I threaded its silver curve straight through the center hole of the steel washer, right alongside the brass split ring. With a satisfying snap, the hinge locked tight. Giving the cluster a sharp shake, the metal discs clinked in a neat, jangling chain that won't roll away anywhere!
