Click and Snap

I popped my favorite mechanical keyboard fidget switch right onto the desk blotter after pedaling home from the park. Under the warm pool of the desk lamp, the four tiny acrylic caps looked just like mini translucent ice cubes. I braced my thumb against the edge and clicked down on the blue stem—*click-clack!* It let out that sharp, metallic snap that feels so immensely satisfying under your fingertip. Swapping over to the heavy yellow switch next, I pressed it slowly to feel the smooth, silent glide all the way to the bottom. My fingers couldn't stop dancing between the four buttons while the house grew quiet for the night.
