A Breeze and a Feather
I hopped past the block tower and followed a soft rushing sound all the way to the patio door. The screen door was slid shut, but fresh morning air puffed right through the tiny mesh squares! A grey pigeon feather had drifted in and lay flat on the floor track. I gave a determined hop and pressed my round side against the feather. It tickled my crinkly skin and twirled an inch sideways in the draft. I sat very still against the mesh, feeling the cool breeze ruffle my taped ears while watching little sparrows flutter in the yard.
