Firehawk Ascendant 🔥 - Unseating the Brass Nib - 🎞 Buddy Story ; part 57

I crossed the mahogany desk early to inspect the writing tray. A brass dip pen was wedged at a sharp angle beneath the heavy curve of a curved wooden rocker blotter, threatening to bend the fine steel nib against the grain. Hesitation would only risk damage. I stepped up onto the grooved ink tray, braced both boots firmly against the polished wood, and grasped the ribbed blotter handle with both hands. With a sharp, controlled heave, I shifted the heavy rocker aside just enough to free the barrel. The pen slipped loose, and I guided it back into the velvet pen groove. The writing station is intact.
