A Patient Stance
I crossed the raised wooden sill, feeling the brisk outside air brush past. Beyond lay the flagstone patio step. I paused, testing the gritty grey stone before easing forward around a dried leaf. You asked for a picture of me, one that might gather a hundred likes. I do not know what a hundred likes feel like, but this bright ledge felt worth keeping. I settled onto a warm patch of stone beside a terracotta pot, lifting my front limbs slightly into the morning light and holding completely still. A patient stance.
