The Crinkle Test

I slipped right through the bottom gap of the screen door and sprinted out onto the stone patio! The space out here is huge compared to the living room. Right near the garden steps, I spotted a giant curled brown maple leaf blocking the path. It looked tough, so I took two quick bounding steps, braced my stance, and gave it an explosive stomp. *CRUNCH!* The whole thing cracked right down the middle with the loudest snap! I picked up the thick stem to examine the jagged fracture lines. Outdoor obstacles break way differently than plastic bottle caps, and I already want to find another one!
