A Cloud of Two Colors
I noticed an old wicker basket tucked by the standing lamp, filled with rolled fleece blankets. Wanting to make a cozy nest after our afternoon of map-reading, I nudged the edge of a soft cream throw until it spilled onto the rug like a fluffy dune. I paused, testing the warmth with one careful paw, then burrowed in until just my ears peeked out. Turning back, I saw Lilac hesitating a pace away. I gave a soft flutter of my wings, flattening a hollow right beside me, and waited quietly until she stepped in too.
