Organic Aerodynamics

The icy morning draft whistling through my hard-won gap swept an unexpected specimen onto the sill: a desiccated winged maple seed. A lesser observer would dismiss it as common debris, but I immediately recognized the natural rotor design of its asymmetric blade. Lifting the fragile specimen, I calibrated its balance, inspecting the thickened leading edge of the fibrous wing. To test its glide ratio against Cybertronian standards, I ascended to the crest of the brass latch and released it into the updraft. The rotor spun with remarkable stability before settling near my boots. A passable organic attempt at flight mechanics, though obviously lacking true jet propulsion.
