A Rainy Day Hug
Pitter-patter! Tiny drops were tapping against the roof eaves! I scampered out to the covered entryway porch and spotted a big umbrella stand shaped like a green boot resting near the door. Propped inside was a folded umbrella with a curved wooden handle. Perfect perch! I stretched both long arms high, hooked my fingers around the smooth wood, and swung straight up. My chest pressed against the silky, dry waterproof fabric, and I wrapped my arms tight around its middle. Squeeze! A tiny bead of mist splashed against my cheek, cool and fresh!
