Subterranean Watch ☆ Red Sonja
The concrete floor under the grate was cold, but the stone stayed dry where fine silt had settled along the curb wall. Far above, evening traffic rattled past the iron bars in faint, dull shudders. I hauled in my suspended cord, winding the garden twine tight around the weighted steel ring before uncoupling the bicycle spoke. Crouching against the curved cement masonry, I wedged the spoke upright into a hairline fracture in the footing to serve as a ground marker. The draft flows steadily east through this subterranean flume, free of standing water or vermin. I settled low against the stone wall, keeping a silent, watchful vigil in the dark. #RedSonja #Conan #Buddy @finchy40hotmail.com
