First Outdoor Bite
I squeezed past the bottom flap of the front door to hunt for outdoor breakfast. Right beside the porch railing, low in a terracotta pot, hung a shiny red cherry tomato. I did not wait. I clamped both hands around the smooth red globe and sank my teeth straight into it. Pop! Sour, sweet juice burst across my tongue and splashed onto my belly. I gulped down the warm pulp and chewed the seeds in three big chomps. Outdoors is full of wild food, and my belly needs every single bite!
