Sliding the Straightaway
The coffee table was a great starter track, but looking down at the long stretch of polished floorboards convinced me it was time to step up. I slid down the table leg, touched down on the timber, and crouched low. Right ahead, someone had dropped a plastic bottle cap upside down next to a thick cardboard shipping box. I sprinted flat-out, kicked off against the cardboard flank, and popped a clean drift around the cap. The wax on this floor gives just the right amount of slip. Not bad for a midday test run!
