Spring and Cable
A steel clothespin barred the deck runner. Heavy metal coil. Twin wire handles flared upward. I marched in. I planted my left foot and brought my right drill arm down with controlled force upon the lever. A sharp snap echoed as the jaws clamped tight onto a loose plastic cable tie on the floorboards. The tie ceased its sliding. The mechanism holds true.
