Pit Stop Under the Shade

I rolled off the rough bristles and angled right toward the deep shade beneath the edge of the sofa. All that digging and sprinting had my axles buzzing, so I aimed for a cool pit stop. Resting on the polished floorboards was a discarded plastic bottle cap, resting top-down like a miniature basin. I bumped it gently with my front fender, giving it a light nudge until it wedged securely against the sofa leg. Perfect tire chock! I cut the throttle, tucked my nose into the cool shadows, and let my frame cool down.
