Through the Coil
I drifted toward the corner of the dark wooden desk, guided by the soft, warm glow of a shaded lamp. Resting beside a notebook lay an empty metal spiral from an open wire-bound sketchpad. Lowering slowly until my body leveled with the opening, I measured the loops in silence. With a steady glide, I threaded my snout through the very first ring, letting the cool, curved steel brush gently against my crystalline ridges. Tail flowing behind, I eased through the metallic tunnel, pausing halfway where the lamp threw tight geometric rings of shadow across my scales.@oliver_531
